Summer is great and all, but that doesn’t mean that everything is hunky dory all the time. To wit:
- The version of Sports Night available on Netflix replaces Neil Finn‘s “She Will Have Her Way” with a generic sound-not-remotely-alike in a couple of second season episodes. This is a crime against art; the Finn song playing over the montage of Casey waiting out the 90 day statute of limitations following Dana’s break up with Gordon is one of the great music cues in TV history. I don’t normally have the free floating antipathy towards lawyers that many do, but at this point I’m ready to take all the intellectual property shysters, stuff them in a giant potato sack, and beat the sack with a claw hammer until the paste is thin enough to leak through the burlap.

It’s a really good song.
- There is a bug in Android 3.1 browser that prevents it from properly using web fonts. Guess what functionality I need in the application I’m working on now?
- I’m down to my last six liters of Coke Zero, and it has been forever since it’s been on sale. I mean a real sale; if I give in and pay $1.25 for a two liter, I’m no better than the animals.
- 3G is spotty and Wi-Fi coverage is nonexistent in the fitness center at the Y. There’s Wi-Fi elsewhere; would it really be that much trouble to slap a repeater up next to the ellipticals? Podcasts and playlists are nice, but sometimes I want to roll the dice with Pandora, even if it has decided (wrongly) that Springsteen‘s “Highway Patrolman” is my favorite song ever.
